Multi-level entertainment precinct Topgolf swings into action with its flagship Australian venue6/15/2018 First up, let us slice through everything to clarify one important factor – Topgolf is not just for golfers. Sure, those that do spend some time on the green will quickly agree that this is the ultimate club-swinging nirvana, but Topgolf is designed to blend technology with great food, killer drinks, live music and fun games (read: not serious) to bring us an entertainment concept that’s like nothing we’ve ever seen before. There are plenty of different ways to play and you should most definitely prepare yourself for a bit (possibly a lot) of healthy competition. We’re first to admit that golf isn’t for everyone – heck, our golfing prowess extends no further than a mini-golf course – but if you’ve ever wanted to swing a club, this is certainly the setting to do it in. Though, with a menu and bar offering like that, you’ll be forgiven for bypassing the golf and heading straight for the food. Get out there and sip, snack and swing, pals – you’ll have a ball.

To all of the bacon lovers out there, do not run for the hills – think of The Milkman’s Daughter as ‘vegetarian for beginners’. As with Poké Poké and FuFu, Morgan is the brains behind the design of The Milkman’s Daughter, transforming the quaint multi-level space into a bright and eye-catching venue that’s full of personality. There’s six-seater alcoves affectionately known as the ‘igloos’, street-view bar seating, plenty of glorious live greenery, and glass-topped tables that house gardens of tiny succulents. High five to whoever is responsible for watering the plants.

Jimmy Huang said beach-facing amenities made perfect sense in beautiful coastal locations as people felt happy when they could see the sand and water and take in the sea breeze.
He said the Jewel would offer residents, hotel guests and visitors easy beach access. (Supplied: Mathew Perich) RELATED STORY: Despite caring for tetraplegic brother-in-law SA woman faces deportation Louis Smit served in World War II, in the New Zealand air force, earning a string of medals for his trouble. He is an Australian citizen and turns 98 in September. These days, he has one goal in life. "I want to be here in my own home, until such a time as I die," Mr Smit said. "A number of countries, Canada included, have temporary carer visas," he said
"Just like a visitor visa, someone would come here and they'd need to be self-funded. "They wouldn't get access to Medicare, they wouldn't get access to government payments. "They would be entirely self-sufficient and based on that I can't see any downside." Mr Glazbrook says the visa would be subject to periodic review and once the care situation ended, the carer would return to their home country. That’s the latest advice from the RACQ as Queenslanders continue to pay high fuel prices. The motoring body has accused some south east petrol stations of ‘punishing drivers with outrageously high prices’. RACQ spokesperson Renee Smith said while almost 40 per cent of the market now charged 145 cents per litre (cpl) or less for unleaded fuel (ULP), more than five per cent continued to rip drivers off. We are starting to see a dip back into the lower end of the price cycle.
Currently on the Gold Coast the average cost of unleaded is 144cpl, but the ‘fair’ price is closer to 140cpl, with drivers urged to visit RACQ’s Fair Fuel website for the best prices in their area. They also happen to be partners but their friendship came first and has been the foundation of their 18-month relationship. They knew of each other as teenagers on the Gold Coast when both were state and national level swimmers. James, now 27, was a few years older than Gabby and they have a photo of them both in the Queensland Schools Swimming Team in 2007, sitting in the same row wearing maroon tracksuits. There was one homeless man obviously under the influence of drugs and he was approaching the "celebrities” and no one really wanted to know him but Miguel took him to the sausage sizzle and fixed him up with a gourmet sausage, made sure he got one and that he was eating it. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
