The figures detailed in answers to Senate Estimates enquiries, show while departments spent big, ministers spent a little more than $800,000 of taxpayer funds on events. "The overall cost of the federal government's administration as a proportion of overall expenditure, including spending by departments on events, has fallen from 8.5 percent in 2007-08 to 6.8 percent in 2017-18 and is projected to continue to fall to 5.6 percent by 2021-22.

The purchaser, Loi Keong Kuong of Macau, will be adding to his Australian portfolio after having purchased 12 Riverside Quay in Southbank for $160 million two years ago. He is also said to be the buyer of Sydney CBD’s 179 Elizabeth Street tower at $265 million last month.

Coolangatta hit just 3.1C at 6.26am this morning, while Beaudesert locals woke up to freezing temperatures of minus 0.7C. “The air is going to warm up too,” Mr Dutschke said. “So that warming air and change in direction take temperatures closer to the June average.
“It does bring with it, the chance of showers as we get later in the week.” The temperatures the Coast has experienced this week are five to seven degrees below the June average, he said. Some relief is on the way, each suburb will be a degree or two warmer on Wednesday. “And a bit warmer again on Thursday, as the coldest air moves,” he said.
