THE Gold Coast has shivered through a second night of freezing temperatures with the mercury dropping to minus 0.7C inland of the city. Coolangatta hit just 3.1C at 6.26am this morning, while Beaudesert locals woke up to freezing temperatures of minus 0.7C. “The air is going to warm up too,” Mr Dutschke said. “So that warming air and change in direction take temperatures closer to the June average.
“It does bring with it, the chance of showers as we get later in the week.” The temperatures the Coast has experienced this week are five to seven degrees below the June average, he said. Some relief is on the way, each suburb will be a degree or two warmer on Wednesday. “And a bit warmer again on Thursday, as the coldest air moves,” he said.
